Manny Ramirez signs with Rays

by safaridave on January 24, 2011

Yes they did.

The Tampa Bay Rays signed Manny Ramirez a 1 year 2 million dollar contract.

I think this is a great signing, Manny has been payed very well the last 2 years by the Dodgers ( $45,000,000.00)

You have to think that Manny has come to Tampa because he likes the AL East and is coming here to play for fun with no pressure.

The media here is a bunch of babies in comparison to the large market teams he has played for in the past ( Dodgers, Yankees & Red Sox )

Not trying to call our media group babies but in comparison to the other markets I would say that the Tampa media is CIVILIZED.

Manny is a contact hitter and will make a fine addition in the Rays clubhouse.  For Manny to sign this 2 million dollar contract says a lot about how he feels the Rays will do this year. We have a stellar starting rotation and we just needs some bats. If you compare the stats of (no bat)Pat you will see that the Rays paid Pat Burrell 3.5 million per home run. Wow he hit 2 home runs with 13 RBI’s in his 24 games as a Ray in 2010.

Welcome aboard Manny.

Rays Sign Manny Ramirez and Johnny Damon

by safaridave on January 22, 2011

Damon signed a 5.25 million dollar 1 year contract.

Ramirez sign a  2 million dollar 1 year contract.

At first was really concerned when there were rumors of the Rays signing these two players. My concern was that we would overpay for declining talent, but the deal that the Rays put together is totally awesome. Both are signed for 1 year contracts and for the cheap, even better yet, the 1 year deals make them great trade bait down the stretch if the Rays are struggling. Its a  WIN WIN situation. Hopefully Johhny Damon stays healthy and Manny is so rich from robbing the Dodgers that he is just playing for fun this year(thats the Manny we need).

I see great things coming from this young team with the best Starting pitching in MLB.

Today, Pet Safari is offering a FREE gift to all customers that say ” Lets Go Rays ” while at the checkout counter.(Saturday Jan 22,2011 Only)
